7 days to go. There Penny! Is this better than another picture of me???
I setup Mom and Dad on Skype (and MSN Messenger as plan B) tonight so we can talk and video back and forth while we're away. Does anyone have experience using Skype or MSN Messenger while in Beijing or Chongqing?

Hi Scott and Jen
We used MSN in Chongqing both as our phone and webcam, but also just for passing along messages.
We were able to talk to our girls before bed and before they went off to school almost every morning. We had no problems and was very cheap. They also could watch their new sister playing and laughing via the webcam. Your staying at the same place we did, we hooked up our laptop in our room and had great access the whole time.

Yes, we used MSN in Beijing (and Jiangxi.)It was a perfect way to keep in touch with my family at home, worked like a charm. Also, we would send a message if we wanted someone to call us and they used 10-10 yak (WAY cheaper than calling direct long distance). If you need details on that feel free to e-mail me.
