lunch time update
We're back from Fresh-Mart... wow, I've never seen crowds quite like that before. Very helpful staff even with a language barrier. They trucked us all over the store helping us find what we want. Pampers and Huggies diapers are right there and we picked up some more formula and water (we dont even use the tap water to rinse our toothbrushes) and my "Coke Lite" cheaper than "Pepsi Lite"). We also got a coupel of different nipples to try as well. Jennifer had Kate in the Snuggli and found it very hot and crowded and generally overwhelming so we got what we needed and got out of there.
when we were at the orphanage yesterday, we noticed that the kids didnt have alot of good toys to play with so we bought lots of new toys for them and will give them to the orphanage director tomorrow when she is here for us to sign the paperwork. We cant take all of the kids home, but we hope that the toys will make them just a bit happier.
The store is about 5 blocks away and the walk there is incredible. The streets are lined with street vendors with their carts selling eveything from winter jackets (they never get frost here but they all seem to wear them) to live chickens right on the side of the street.
Jen's now trying to egt Kate put down for her nap. She fell asleep on the way back but she woke up when we took her out of the Snuggli and she wont go back to sleep. She's not crying, but making some broken moans and farting up a storm so she's probalvy loading her diaper. Jen, that one will be yours.
I took this short video this morning while we were eating breakfast. Here's Kate eating some breakfast. All of the other kids have taken quite well to the highchairs, but Kate is still our little velcro baby!
Before we left this morning, she ate...
most of a banana
250 ml of formula
100 ml of congee with orange, watermellon and mango pieces
a few egg noodles
few spoonfuls of scrambled eggs...
almost as much as her Daddy!
The bottle went much easier this morning but still not perfect. We started her with that when she was the most hungry.
So, diaper count up to now...
4 pees
no poops
Soon we may have to dig out the heavy artillary... prunes.
